Client: Doree
Project: High-Rise Condo Remodel
Location: Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL

Archway completed a condo remodel in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago in fall of 2014. The unit was a two bedroom, two bath condo at 2020 Lincoln Park West, just across the street from the Lincoln Park Zoo, a popular Chicago destination. The homeowner was Ms. Doree, a young woman and first-time home buyer from River Forest, IL. She was very excited to see her vision of a beautiful home come to life.

The following are some photos of the unit as it was when the homeowner purchased it:

Scope of Work

The scope of work for this remodel was as follows:

The kitchen was completely gutted and we added new cabinetry, counter tops, hardware, appliances and lighting. The layout and arrangement of the appliances changed slightly to accommodate the client's needs.

Both bathrooms were completely remodeled with new tile flooring, all new plumbing including tubs and toilets, custom vanities and lighting. New closet doors were also added throughout the unit, along with new baseboards and paint. The wood flooring was stained a new color throughout (a dark, ashy grey).
Both bedrooms got new carpeting and the master bedroom got a built-out closet for more storage space.

The Demo Process

The first step in the process of beginning a remodeling job is the demolition process, where anything in the home that is not staying must be taken out. This includes tearing down walls, ripping up tile, pulling out cabinets and appliances, lighting, etc. This is exactly what we did in this condo, as you can see from the construction photos below:

The Finished Product

After many weeks of hard work, the finished space finally came together. There were several change orders signed, and as all of the final materials fell into place, it began to look like a brand new condo.

The kitchen went from dark and drab to light and modern, with light contemporary cabinets and grey quartz countertops.

Both bathrooms also went from dark to light, with very modern elements, including a custom-made floating vanity in the master bathroom. Other materials/finishes included:

Chrome accents (faucets/trims, door handles, lights), marble countertop on the vanity, and marble-look tile.

In the end, the client was extremely happy with the transformation of her unit and we are very proud of the hard work that went into it, ultimately producing a beautiful result.
